The restoration of endodontically treated teeth was advocated by G.V.Black in 18691 followed by a one-unit post and crown by Richmond in 1878. Engineering principles indicate that structural strength on endodontically treated teeth is decreased by the removal of the roof of the pulp chamber, canal enlargement, and hence loss of integrity.
